National Outreach Coordinator

Since 2021, I have been serving as the National Outreach Coordinator (NOC) for Morocco. NOCs are national representatives of the International Astronomical Union’s (IAU) Office for Astronomy Outreach (OAO).

As part of this network, I act as the primary point of contact for astronomy outreach initiatives within Morocco, working to promote and support public engagement with astronomy.

• Support & endorsement for new initiatives

  We bring together associations, initiatives, and clubs to spread scientific knowledge and support collaboration.

  To strengthen communication, we created a WhatsApp group with more than 60 members, where we inform associations about international events, contests, and opportunities. This platform allows us to keep the network active and engaged.

  We organized monthly meetings (especially during the COVID-19 pandemic) and in-person events to maintain momentum and ensure effective coordination. These initiatives help unite local efforts and amplify the reach of astronomy outreach activities across the country.

• Representing the Astro Network at the international level

  Description I have delivered numerous presentations during IAU General Assemblies and international conferences, showcasing the work of the astronomy outreach network. These events provided opportunities to highlight the achievements of local associations, foster collaborations, and promote the importance of public engagement in science on a global stage.text goes here

• Collaboration with other NOCs

  Our mission is to promote astronomy through outreach campaigns, public events, and collaborations with other NOC offices.

  For example, we collaborated with NOC France to organize events for International Women’s Day and participated in the Speed AstroMeeting initiative. Additionally, we have established partnerships with NOC Palestine and NOC Libya to co-host AstroCamps in desert regions, fostering cross-border cooperation and inspiring communities in remote areas through astronomy.

During the African Astronomical Society Conference in Marrakech,  we successfully secured funding for association-led exhibitions.
